Can I really learn to sail by taking the online course you offer?
Yes.  You can learn the concepts necessary to sail a boat in our online class. Then, you will be able to take that conceptual understanding to sail in the water and practice what you have learned.  Sailing theory must be understood before on the water practice is beneficial and not learning concepts slows being able to sail.

Does the simulator actually speed up my learning to sail on the water? Yes. It will substantially shorten the time necessary to understand what you have to learn to make the boat sail.  You can learn the points-of-sail on how to sail a boat in our 2.5 hour course.

How long do I have to complete the course? You can take as long as you like, but it is recommended that you complete the course in a timely manner because you will retain the information better in that way.  You will have continued access to the course.

Is this course right for me? There is no school that can guarantee your results from any course because everyone is different. Sailing for Blondes will give you the exact information you need to know to sail a boat.

What is your refund policy? We are so confident in our work that we offer a money-back guarantee. If you do the work, we know you will learn and be very happy with your results. If you have a concern, we will work with you to resolve your problem. However if within 14 days you are not satisfied with the course, we will refund your money. Just email us within the 14-day period.  Since our course includes the simulator, it must be returned in like-new condition.

What if I have no experience on a sailboat? That is okay, however you will need to physically go out sailing so you can put into practice what you have learned. There is no pre-requisite of experience in order to learn everything presented in the course.

What do I get with the course? You will receive the book, Sailing For Blondes, The Simulator Book, Learn Twice as Fast and Twice as “Good”. You will also receive a Simulator that you will use in the course. You will gain immediate access with a user name and password to the course content that has been created in video and slides. You will have lifetime access to the course as long as the course is available online.

How long are the lessons? Each of the 12 modules vary in length and the entire course is approximately 2-1/2 hours so the average module is 12 minutes long.
Are there worksheets that need to be completed? Yes. The end of the course will have one worksheet with problem-solving to be completed with the simulator.

How long will it take me to learn how to sail? Most people would be able to learn to sail in approximately 90 days if they study and practice often on the water. Some, of course, would take longer and some an even shorter time. Knowing the basics of how to sail is completely different from the lifetime of learning that accompanies proficiency to expert levels. People never quit learning more about sailing.

How much physical strength and stamina does it take to sail? There are sailors of all ages from young to even in their 70’s and 80’s still sailing. It is a sport that you can enjoy for a lifetime.

Do you offer certification with your course? No, however we provide you with a Certificate of Achievement for completing the course. Actually, certifications are good to have, however a charter company wants your complete sailing resume, not just a certification.  We don’t discourage on-the-water courses that offer certification. Many of our students go very successfully from our online course to take on-the-water courses that do offer certifications.  Certifications are not necessary for you to sail your own boat, a friend’s boat or to charter a boat.

I am a sailing instructor and want to know if you offer affiliations with Sailing For Blondes programs? We are interested in talking with you about partnering with us. Please contact us for more information.
